Mound Collection — Sculptural Serveware

Fashioned from an array of sustainable and repurposed materials and food waste

A mound, in its most fundamental form, is an elevated structure, rising from the Earth's surface, and carrying various symbolic meanings across cultures and history. It has represented a site of reverence, burial grounds, and also a connection between heaven and earth. A mound embodies the union of the tangible and the ethereal, showcasing the interplay between the physical world and spiritual dimensions.

Drawing inspiration from the convergence of different geological forces that shape mountains and the mounds of waste created every day, the Mound Collection brings together a diverse array of materials.

Hemp, clay, lime, plaster, buckwheat husks and ground macadamia nut shells represent nature's resources.

Mountains are often viewed as spiritual symbols, representing unity between the heavens and the earth. In the same spirit, the Mound Collection serves as a reminder of our interconnectedness with nature and the responsibility to protect and preserve the environment.

Just as no two mountains are alike, each item in the Mound Collection is one-of-a-kind. Handcrafted, they carry distinct characteristics and imperfections, making them collectible treasures that speak of the individuality.
